To celebrate my friend James' soaring off to New York City for the summer, he put together this little gathering of people to set off lanterns. I had read of doing such a thing in one of my favorite books, Danny the Champion of the World, so I was pretty excited to give it a try.
The lanterns were beautiful when they were released in groups.
But I do have to say that the lantern that Mark and I did was particularly excellent.
Probably because it flew in the direction of the moon. We were pretty proud.

I am thinking we just may need to send off some lanterns at the beach this summer!!!! Looks so beautiful.
